We need more kids like this.

BTW
"Are you required to destroy the flag if it touches the ground?

The Flag Code states that the flag should not touch anything beneath it, including the ground. This is stated to indicate that care should be exercised in the handling of the flag, to protect it from becoming soiled or damaged. You are not required to destroy the flag when this happens. As long as the flag remains suitable for display, even if washing or dry-cleaning is required, you may continue to display the flag as a symbol of our great country."

He wouldn't have learned that in "sensitivity training" class at the local High School.

Would someone please explain the ball cap/hoodie thing?

Right. Not every one has a natural scarf to wrap around their neck.

You are old, and no longer hip. You used to get IT, but they changed IT on you and you do not like it.

Its a kid thing. My son has like five of them, wears them like shirts. Always has the hood up when he has a choice.

I get the cold thing....duh.

I mean the cap in conjunction with the hoodie.....thing.

Why doesn't Tommy Stinkfinger take it one more step and sew a brim on a Hoodie.

Let’s go with “rain”. Hood for warmth. Cap to keep the rain out of your face.

Structural limitations. You cant have the flexibility of a hoodie, when you have a rigid cap built into it.

Kid folded up the flag properly by himself. Outside, in the rain and wind. That's not nothing.

I don't allow my boys to wear that sort of clothing but at the end of the day, I fail to see the problem with what he's wearing--his care, altruism and even the expression on his face say a lot more than his clothing ever could.

I have a couple jackets with hoodies on them.

When I wear those, I wear a ball cap at the same time.

Keeps the hood from falling too far forward and blinding me while I am doing something.

Yup, hoodie with cap can be very practical. If I have my jacket hood up without a cap and I turn my head, I’m looking at nothing but the inside of the hood.
