Aluminum in antiperspirants is a concern, I get mine from a natural health store. Aluminum is ingested from your underarms and not good in my book. So I don't do it. Great point.
I'll be the first in line to get a vaccine with a (one) dead virus in a benign carrier (no formaldehyde, aluminum, mercury preservatives or adjuvants like squalene). Preferably administered in a manner similar to smallpox (really cowpox).
We ought to think on the vaccines we give to children, their spacing, and the amount we give them. There is evidence that combining vaccines, notably MMR may be especially harmful.
We certainly don't need to give some like Hep B (sexually transmitted) to infants.
Some allege polio still exists but occurs in similar forms by different names. But I'll note polio as a partial success, the cancer that was found in there and given to generations of kids is not a good side benefit.
Exactly! I agree.

FYI on mercury...
Get your vaccine at Costco.
They use single dose vials.
Thimerosal (the organomercury compound), is not used in single-dose vials, or pre-filled syringes of the flu vaccine.
It's used in multi-dose vials to prevent germs, bacteria, or fungus from contaminating the remaining doses upon re-use.
Places with a higher volume of patients tend to use the multi-dose vials.

I'm not even going to go into how vaccines work. Those of you who believe that the influenza vaccine causes bouts of influenza, or weakens your immune system, or whatever...yah, you stick with that nonsense.
Somehow I've managed to be vaccinated against the flu every single year for as long as I can remember--some years twice vaccinated, because I'll have the vaccination as soon as my pharmacy has it, and then the UW employee health nurses come around--and I've never had the actual influenza virus. The one exception was the year with the swine flu outbreak, for which there was no vaccination, and that year I intentionally exposed myself and my three sons to a person whom I believed had the swine flu. I figured, better to know what myself and the boys had and hit it with Tamiflu early than to not know what we were dealing with.
It worked, it sucked, but we all had natural immunity long before the vaccine was available, a year later.
And capsaicin strengthening your immune system? Fuck. Really? Yah, you go with that, and I'll stick with empirical proof.

You know, it IS possible to communicate with people without ridiculing/insulting them. No matter how strongly you FEEL about the subject. You might also consider the possibility that your attitude and approach are most often what bring you such negative backlash.

^ this is good advice for any side of any argument. I’m guilty of this myself and reeling it in allows for better discourse.

Tamiflu is made by Roche. I worked at Roche for many years. I know how vaccines work - along with a whole bunch of other stuff.

To all the snotty post owners, Merry Christmas.
Re-read your comments over the holidays, and try to square them with the spirit of the season.
If we as a community have become this divided, then America is well and truly fucked.
