AI/ML is super interesting. "Ethical" use of AI is a quickly growing field in academia and in business, which supports the idea that it could be use for right and "wrong" reasons.
Fabricating photographic evidence to be used against you? Probably not admissible in a legal setting since courts require unmodified, untouched, straight-from-camera images. All photos are tagged with meta data (or exif) embedded that tells you when the photo was taken and with what hardware and settings it was taken to prove that the image asset is in fact untouched. Outside of legal settings? Sure, but it's no different from what you've been able to do with photoshop or snapchat over the last decade. In healthcare, AI/ML can be used to increase the accuracy of diagnoses for cancers. Something a human radiologist could possibly miss, a computer can be trained to never miss. |

AI is a concept that doesn’t yet exist. The term is increasingly used incorrectly.
Machine learning tools are being used, but it’s not technically AI. The algorithms being used are highly susceptible to influence by the humans that define them. _________________ Liberals never met a slippery slope they didn't grease. I wish technology solved people issues. It seems to just reveal them. |

But I think the term has expanded quite a bit to capture ML-powered applications as a very basic form of AI. Case in point: iot devices (alexa and siri) and autonomous driving |
