For many years guns have been defacto banned there due to strict government regulations that made it almost impossible to purchase or carry them.

The new president was partially elected on a platform of legalizing guns. One of his signature campaign aspects was a gun salute he'd do.

Libs are always going on about international comparisons. If Brazil sees a large crime and homicide drop from this strategy this will help to shut them up.

What we are doing next
The Gun Safety Action Plan will continue to expand and evolve to ensure that King County is doing everything in power to stop senseless gun violence and make our communities safer. We value you as a partner in this fight and hope you will share your ideas and solutions with us here.
State law restricts our ability to enact many common sense changes that would go a long way toward preventing mass shootings.
Which is why:
It's time to lead or get out of the way
The Washington State Legislature enacted a preemptive ban on local jurisdictions from making laws that might limit the sale or possession of firearms in our state.
If the state preemption law is repealed, the King County Gun Safety Action Plan will immediately:
Ban semi-automatic, high velocity weapons: Ban the sale and possession of semi-automatic, high velocity weapons
Ban high capacity ammunition magazines: Ban the sale and possession of high capacity ammunition magazines

It isn’t necessary for us who are trying with the small part of our heart that might be oriented towards the good to allow people that are manipulating us with historical ignorance and philosophical sleight of hand to render us so god damn guilty about what our ancestors may or may not have done so that we allow our shame and our guilt to be used as tools to manipulate us into accepting a future that we do not want to have. ~ Jordan B. I doubt it will shut anyone up. What I see happening is, citizens will be shooting bad guys and killing them, missed shots at bg’s with innocent bystanders hit, negligent discharges with innocents hit. They’ll be all over the numbers, taking it out of context and twisting it to suit their needs.

As I said in other thread. The Venezuelan thing didn't actually disarmed people. Just made the law abiding join the larger illegal side.

I meant the success of the socialist government that they have there

I think you will see a spike in deaths for a short time while people realize others are defending themselves. Then it should taper off and lower.

This would be the first time that I have noticed a public reversal by a nation towards a more 2A view in my lifetime.
Are there any others that I missed?

Any word on the proposed wording of any changes?

Brazil doesn't need guns:

Excellent..........

If Brasil allows more gun ownership (you can own a gun there now) - I MAY change my retirement plans.

Brazil is just finally being pragmatic, there is no way in hell the could enforce the gun laws anyway. Their borders are more pourous than ours and their import laws are only concerned with generating government revenue.

All of those poor people who pick pockets of random tourists are going to have to find a real job. Maybe they can get a job working for Hitlery tending her lawn.
