I have transferred 2 guns to 2 different gun shops around me. Both are from private out of state sellers.
Gunshop 1 said I have to pay the 10% tax
Gunshop 2 said no tax just the trans fee.
Who is correct?

Where they shipped from the private individual(s) or did they use an FFL to ship to the gun store?

Did you purchase the guns and have them transferred to you here in WA? then yes, you pay the tax.

Did you sell the guns and have the guns transferred to them out of state? then no, you do not pay the tax.

If shipped to the gun shop from a private individual then the shop would not collect sales tax. The buyer then would be responsible for paying the "Use Tax"
If the private individual used an FFL to ship to the gun shop, then the shop would collect the tax.

Screwed up system for sure....

Please see above...

Bottom line overall is that you either pay Sales Tax or Use Tax. It just depends on who collects/remits the tax...

CASH? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Which pawn shop is this?

Here's the link you requested. https://dor.wa.gov/sites/default/files/legacy/Docs/Pubs/SpecialNotices/2014/sn_14_Firearms.pdf

OK....maybe I'll later redact my laughs. If they are collecting tax, they don't want to get charged a fee when you swipe your card and don't want a potential bad check after someone leaves with their firearm.

I haven't had a drink in about four or five days and not my metabolism is going through the roof. Everything is happening and moving along faster. It's like wearing PF Flyers.

This.
Do your home work.
I have transferred over 40 firearms out of state from private party to FFL without paying a dime.
The buyer pays the shipping and whatever their FFL charges for the transfer.
I did all my own packaging too which I charged the buyer for.
My recommendation, do it yourself, don't go through an FFL here.
Get a copy of the FFL licensee in the state you're transferring to via the buyer.
Photo copy the FFL you're transferring TO (for your protection) and keep it in a file, both electronic copy and paper copy

Yes and you pay state (sale) "usage" tax. I've never NOT paid this tax at an FFL when received in a purchase transaction via GoneBroker.
