His excuse? He was attacked by a dog
. LOL
only the police can shoot someone, then with a straight face say that it's not their fault....
“Our conclusion in this incident was this was not a result of an act of negligence, carelessness or otherwise reckless behavior,” Lafayette Police Chief Patrick Flannelly said at the news conference. “It was accidental.”

I hope she gets a new partner...

Next month’s headline: Officer takes ND in the groin, from female partner.

What's the time index?

Ugh, that was awful.
She's a tough cookie, I'll give her that. And yeah, she need to give him a good ass-whupping when she recovers!

Dog was in a cage.
More than that, the dog's tail was wagging.
I'd bet the guy has a beef with his female partner. That looked intentional, to me.

Holy shit! Someone needs indexing training or to stop using a Glock? I assume that was a Glock I saw.

Well trained??? I’m curious to know the details of who they were looking for.
What could possibly go wrong performing a search using a gun to aim your flashlight?

For those unsure, the shot is fired by the second officer, the one closest to the cage. You can actually see where the round passes through the front door in the body camera footage.

An "accident"? My Ass, that was a ND. The Dog was in a Cage and they want to blame the Dog? That was a straight up Fuck up by the Officer and they are trying to limit Liability with that statement.

Just because it was determined to be "accidental",
doesn't necessarily mean it wasn't an act of negligence, carelessness, or reckless behavior.
If it wasn't one of the latter three, then it would be a common occurrence.
What a bullshit determination. It obviously wasn't intentional, but to say it wast even careless, is trying to quash a lawsuit, and nothing else.
