Imanaged to get two ladies backed down and off the road, though i finally just told one to "get out" because she couldn't follow simple instructions. The other one? She didn't know her Right from her Left.....I had to keep telling her, "Your other Left." Then there was another one stopped in an Explorer and i asked her "is it 4WD?" Yes says, then "I just got it". OK then Lady, try and go forward...it does and starts spinning a little and she stops. "See, it slipping?" Yeah Lady, it will do that. Keep on the Gas and GO! She made it a couple hundred feet and ended up on the curb. One wheel spinners front and rear and no concept of how to drive in Snow. I had to leave her to save others. You have to be careful when pushing cars or being on the road, people are impatient and driving up the oncoming lanes and snaking around stuck vehicles. There were a few of us helping but i came in to get dried off, (The Explorer Ladies left rear spewed Snow over both Legs) and i heard Sirens a few minutes ago. Time to go look again. The road I live on, used to be the main road in and out of this community. A few years ago, we had the landslide. Took almost two years before we got a bridge built, to have another way in here. Times like right now, I am glad that all that happened. Now I am just a side street. Used to be, at times like this, I'd have to be out there all day long, and sometimes all night long rescuing people that run themselves off the road, due to the snow. Funny how they will come out here in a prius or something. Have no idea how to drive on snow. Slide off the side of the road, because the road is at a steep angle, and they don't know they have to drive along the 'top side' of that angle... Then it is my absolute responsibility to come and rescue them, AND their car! just because I live close by.

Left Kent about 2pm and sat on Veteran's drive for damn near 30 minutes before making it to Des Moines Memorial which usually takes 2 minutes. Roads were bare, but the snow was coming down like a champ. A normal 11 minute commute ended up being just over an hour. My original plan was going to go into the Longshore dock tonight to swoop up some work, but my boy Tito called and asked to hang out and he changed my mind.

been wondering why the bushes in my front yard have been torn up this year. Branches broken... leaves stripped. Last night I watched two does and a fawn come out from the gully across the street and start feasting on my landscaping... (Yeah, I as I watched I was trying to figure how high I would have to aim to compensate for the close range...)

I feel bad for the calltakers at the PSAP...
No doubt idiots will be deluging them with 'My car is stuck in the (ice/snow) , when will you come get me out?!'....

I learned and spent most of my adult life driving in horrendous winter snow conditions. Problem is the bulk of drivers are totally inexperienced and unprepared. I cannot fault them - it's just the reality of it. If you never drive in the stuff, you don't have the experience or probably good tires or AWD or 4x4 capability. I stayed home today. Best decision.

Raining in FW with virtually no accumulation. Just a little slush on the road.

How the FUCK?! How? I should think that would be obvious. Because the target was actually big enough.
