Has anyone ever heard of this place?
https://hotlaptopstore.com/
I found it by accident and am completely blown away at what their laptops are listed for.
Keep in mind they are refurbished but good gawd, there're cheap!

Got to wonder what the catch is. I note they say no deep scratches. That kind of tells me likely the screens have scratches just not "deep". And as we know scratches on a laptop screen vastly drop the price.
Also, got to wonder what parts they used in them to refurb. Probably done in China or India or Turkministan. Wonder if they were put together from parts recycled over there?
Win 10 refurb licenses are about that amount so you wonder if they are coming with real licenses. Could also be government lot sales as well. Sometimes those lots are dirt cheap and only need so clean up.
Only time will tell.

ADDED: Also, I can see no warranty info so likely these are like those computers sent out years ago where the customer gets to test and make sure they work.

Just because it is an Intel i7, does not mean it is the latest generation. There are 8-9 generations of the Intel i-3,5,7 and now 9. The later generations and their cores provide a successive gain in processing power. But you have to know which one it is to determine its value. In addition to whether it has a graphics chip, which does NOT mean embedded Intel graphics (GPU) which usually suck.

From one HP laptop, it seems pretty good:
7th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-7200U mobile processor
7200 means a 7th gen but they spelled it out for you.

Seems pretty good, and if you do not want/desire a graphics card (spendy on a laptop if you ask me) a good bargain.

I bought a 6th Gen Intel laptop last year and the reviews on Amazon were so-so but I still liked it.

If you could find what exact model one is, you could look it up on Amazon.

Added: If you can find out if you can expand memory, some new ones it's hard, unless you have more than 8Gig or more, you may want more in the future.

While that's all good information, I think you missed the intention of my question.
These are awfully cheap prices. "Too good to be true?"

He basically explained why they may be so cheap. The Devil is in the laptop details Rick.

I've got some smoking deals from Newegg before on refurbs. Some businesses buy them and never use them.

That's why I was asking about it. :wink05:

I haven't been to Newegg in a long time. I see they have really good prices now. Might be better to stick with a known name. :thumbsup2:

Makes sens to check those things as additional info, but it could be a name change or added domain name too.. I do not know them or any association, just saying because that domain is new does not mean they are. If you looked at the domains I am running my business on they are only a month old because I just now decided to add them so that someone else does not pull a Dbag move and leverage on my business.

That said if something seems to good to be true.... As mentioned generation of CPU and how old the laptops are can be huge factor in price. I know there are folks on FB Marketplace all the time selling I5/I7 laptops in the 100-200 range with OS, and they are local refurbishers.
