1st chapter may seem a little churchy to you heathens but keep reading.

I'll try not to referee or over-explain stuff, but yeah, it starts a bit unorthodox as the first character you meet is a minor one, and doesn't have much in common with many of the main characters.
Every book has a target audience, and this one is aimed at conservative Christian men with some appeal to women (mostly thanks to my editor). You don't have to be all three for the story to appeal to you, but if you're none of them or only one...it will be a stretch.

Got my proof copies a couple days ago. Am in the process of making changes to the cover/spine. The original looks good from a distance but the source image isn't high-res, plus I want the spine font to match the front cover. Also fixing a handful of editing issues, mostly those where the original text wasn't deleted when the revision was approved.
Thanks again to those of you who purchased a copy! If you like it, the Amazon page sure would pop a little with some reviews. If you didn't like it...well...
Some of you figured it out, but on the Kindle product page you can "look inside" and read the first few chapters. Like many classic apocalyptic stories e.g. Stephen King's The Stand and Niven & Pournelle's Lucifer's Hammer, it starts slow and picks up steam.

I'm around 20% in (not much time for reading lately) "he" just got two young friends on bikes.....(no clues/spoilers given). Your writing is quite readable. I can't say yet about uniqueness factor in story.

Typo check. Been pretty error free, but hit a major snafu paragraph. 32% or so in. I can maybe find the exact marker later. Word mixup. Repeated similar words. Maybe edited out of paper version. Easy to see what you are trying to say.
Character introduction entertainment. More to come I am sure. Storyline developing nicely.

Got some design help for the revised cover. Someone who actually has Photoshop versus the fougazi tool I used for the original.

Hey guys, so I'll be on the other side of the hills later this month.
My plan is to sign and hand out books on Saturday, April 27th from 10:00am-12:00am in the Auburn area. I'm open to suggestions, but if I don't get any I'll ask Rainier Arms if their parking lot is OK.
Here's the deal. I don't get loads of free books from a publisher, I have to pay the same price from Amazon as everyone else. Sure, there's a little in there for me, but not as much as you'd think. With tax each copy is $26.89 in my neck of the woods. For you guys and gals, I'm going to eat the $1.90 in tax and simply sell for the cover price of $24.99.
I can bring a Square card reader but would prefer cash.
Right now I have 4 in for a signed copy:
RENCORP L_O_G Free Boer Isildur
Please let me know here or in PM if you can make that time window. If anyone else wants to jump in, let me know. While having too many books (within reason) is not a big deal, having too few would be a problem.

Rencorp & I live out in the sticks. I know I can't make it to that part of the world on the 27th. I'd cover postage & costs for both signed books (paypal or mail you a check) if they could be sent to me & I'll then get one copy to Rencorp.
