Nice start to the season!
We finally got rid of a lot of the over-priced guys that were signed to fill specific holes, but either didn't deliver when needed, or didn't help with chemistry... Lotsa young, hungry guys, coming together, with cagey vets like Gordon helping in the clubhouse... Hope we can hang on to Vogey I knew they were really serious about making changes when they got rid of Felix's catcher... |

They got rid of his Catcher, but it didn't help him Pitch.

With the exception of two blown saves, one on a monster HR, this team has been doing very well. Hottest team in baseball with the biggest scoring differential in the league. This team needed a hot start, you had the Edgar HOF, and Ichiro retirement in Japan, there was a lot of hype and such around this team. You can feel the buzz about this team everywhere you go. I was in the hospital a few days ago and I heard some random guy ask a coworker, "What's going on?" The reply, "The Mariner's hot start is what's going on!" If they can sweep the Royals that brings them home on a big wave to play a good Astros team that has won their last four. I hope it brings out the fans to help with a home field advantage.

Sorry I didn't present it very well...using, like, the right words might have helped  We got rid of a number of big stars we were kowtowing to...it inhibited the young guys and, in my opinion, messed with the locker room.... In my opinion, getting rid of Zunino, who most people liked, but many were frustrated waiting years for a good season hitting, with no injuries, was a good conclusion to many of these changes, as well as pulling Felix when he's not dong well... They let it Zunino because he was Felix's favorite catcher... Letting him go let everyone know, much like the Seahawks, it's not paycheck or pedigree that gets you playing time, but performance. Refreshing....and...contagious |

Since I haven't found a way to watch the games for free online/in app...I'm stuck with highlight videos. They certainly are impressing right now. All those years of hearing about how righties couldn't hit HRs at Safeco because of air currents from the Sound made balls hit to left just die.
I'll take this over the 2008-201x teams that surprised us all when they scored 4 or more runs. Lineups of 7, 8, 9 hitters that had zero pop and hit below .250. But hey, they played great defense! _________________ "Wherever you go, there you are." |

Cautious optimism...
Last year I really thought we had a contending team and were going to make a one game playoff... We all know how the season fizzled down the stretch.
