You'll notice most threaded Glock barrels seem to stick out of the slide a lot more than they need to; that is required for suppressor mounting. It's because the barrel retracts with the slide a little ways, but recoil spring guide rod does not, so the barrel has to be extended that much to keep the suppressor from hitting the guide rod.
A comp-only threaded barrel can be much shorter, with the threads running up almost flush with the slide. I've done that on some custom barrels, but haven't seen in on any recent production threaded Glock barrels. Both the G22 and G19 barrels I received (despite ordering two G22 barrels) were suppressor length threaded.

Good stuff, thank you, and it inspired me to break out my Bear Creek Glock 17 barrel that was still in the package and start doing some testing with the Omega 9K suppressor. From top to bottom here, we have: - Polymer 80 Compact (aka Glock 19 clone) with Bear Creek Glock 19 barrel - Glock 17 with Bear Creek barrel - Glock 19 with Blacklist barrel, which is fairly pricey. - Glock 17L with Lone Wolf barrel Can you see the difference in the distance between the shoulder at the rear of the threading and the end of the slide? The Bear Creek barrels have much less distance here than the other barrels. Interesting. So here's the muzzle of the Polymer80 with the suppressor attached, both with the slide forward and with the slide locked back: And the same with the Glock 17: With the Polymer80, there is just a CH between the suppressor and the end of the guide rod; you CAN see light through there, but it's close. With the Glock 17, the suppressor can touch the end of the guide rod. I don't think it's going to hit very hard, just touch it, so I think I'd shoot it. However, based on what I'm seeing here I think I'd go somewhere besides Bear Creek for my next barrel purchase . . . .

Thanks both of you for the responses and all the research/pics from Madpick!

I don't have a nice picture, but looking at mine, there is way more barrel protrusion:

Are both of those Bear Creek barrels? What size “Glocks” are those?

Agreed, your Bear Creek barrel looks longer than mine. That’s a good sign.
