I bought a pair of these recently for $80, which I thought was a pretty damn good deal . . . now they're down around the $59.xx mark for the Amazon Warehouse (imperfections) version, or $64 for new:

I really, really like these . . . they make it much easier to talk while there's gunfire around you. They're much better than any of the other muffs I've used.

I bought one too . . . not sure why I needed a second pair, but the price was right. :thumbsup2:

Steve,

Are you comparing them to other electronic ear muffs or non battery powered ear muffs? If you're comparing them to the old school no battery type then, yes it's a huge improvement. Like going from a Model T Ford to a Saleen. Once you use the battery operated noise canceling muffs, it's hard to go back to traditional. This is particularly true for guys like me with stunted hearing abilities as it is.

I use these slimmer versions by Walkers and they are fantastic!

I'm comparing them to other electronic muffs.

I was using a pair of Walkers, and I think these are MUCH better. The Walkers would basically shut down when gunfire started, which made it hard to continue a conversation. The Peltor are much better at filtering out the gunfire while continuing to allow "normal" sound through.

I also own two sets of Caldwell electronic muffs, a pair of Howard Leights, and a $300 pair of Pro Ears. The Peltor smokes them all.

Good info! I'll have to look into these.
