Looks like an aluminum-chinesium alloy. Probably worth about what you pay for it!

This looks like the one that I tried off Aliexpress for $30, the fit was not good. Ended up returning it.

The exposed end of that hinge bolt could make for a real fun time when charging the firearm. Looks just like the LAW Tactical other than that. Threw me off with the lock ring threaded into the wrong half of the hinge, had to figure out what wasn't right.

This just hit my fb feed, and made me come back here to where I saw it originally.

Often Aliexpress items end up on facebook, with marketing for 2x price. I have a suspiciously similar looking one from aliexpress I ordered a month ago

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001776684024.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.5ecf4c4d8pfYvX

Just word to the wise, check aliexpress if you see FB ads for the same item for 1/2 price. I got zucked myself before.

But worst case, you have an excuse to building a folding AR-22 or add the brace to my ZPAP92.

It may even work as well as the more expensive ones. I have a real SBA4 and a fake SBA4, the only difference is the brace elastic material is crappy in the fake one.

OK, I'll ask the stupid question. Can they be fired from the folded position? Since there's nowhere for the bolt carrier group to go (I assume the triangular piece drops in place when folded to retain the BCG?) and no way to reciprocate to strip & load the next round, I'd say no. Maybe it could fire once, but that seems like an awful lot of stress on whatever keeps the bolt from running back. If the impingement system were disabled, I could see it being used as a single shot while folded, but you'd have to keep loading rounds with the charging handle.

BCG has to travel back, so the round would not eject and you would have to unfold to eject/chamber. Unless you had a blowback 22 or fancy short stroke buffer system like the MP5s have.

But with that metal of unknown quality, be prepared to get mushroom stamped by the BCG.

Plastic I will trust aliexpress for, especially overpriced plastic like braces.
Metal I will not trust aliexpress for, unless I'm ok with the metal actually being plastic (because it practically will be).
