My 36x48 garage is filled with 1940/50/60's project cars, and my shelves are overflowing with parts. Since i started liquidating my dad's garage into mine i've ran into a problem, i dont have enough shelf space, so i'm going to have to fill boxes with parts. I've bought a number of modern plastic totes at $20 ea, but they look too modern and out of place.
Are there any cheap crates/totes or boxes that would fit this era of shop? I'm thinking there must be some good mil-surp that isnt even worth the shipping cost, but the problem is finding it.
When dealing with period correct early hot rods you run into the issue of needing a box full of steering boxes, or headlights, or carbs, and another of clutch linkage to find all the stuff that works together, in the old days they could just cobble from a wrecking yard

They will be costly, but metal milk crates and wooden fruit boxes sound like your solution
