We were going to order 4x of these, but then read the reviews and decided against it.

Thanks for posting that. I looked at this thread earlier, briefly considered buying some, then got distracted. Now I went back and read the reviews after your post, and it's pretty clear that I don't want these.

Check out the "Review Highlights":

First, note that they just can't find any cons to mention. Next, look at that review in the lower left -- hey, these are comfortable!

Now go that full review:

Yeah, they are comfortable -- until they fall apart!

Pretty damned dishonest cherry-picking of those reviews by Cabelas, IMO.

My current chairs, identical to these, are 10 years old and still holding up except for the powder coating is peeling off due to the salt air they've encountered for 3 years of winter on Texas coast.

These new ones will stay with the truck camper and old ones will continue to hold our asses until they fall apart.

Generally, my experience with Cabela's gear has been good, but the reviews on these just tingled my spidey senses. Also they say they'll support 225 lbs and for any of you who know me, you know that ain't going to work.

We have some chairs we got from Costco many-many moons ago, somewhat similar in design w/o the table. We call them the "camping chairs" and we've had them for 15 years or so (?). We've used them all over the place and nary a quibble. I'd love to find more of those.

Ouch, at 4x the price, but at least the load limit's almost 200lbs more than I need.

Deal is now dead.

I bought two of these for my kids. Figure for $20 let them tear them up.

Got myself a "big man's" chair to replace one that had a plastic piece break on it after mild use. That chair sucked ass. I returned it today with the hope that these directors chairs were still on sale. Unfortunately, they are not. I'll grab another one when they go on sale again.

For $20 if they last a season or two of abuse I'm happy.
