Sportco has both veprs 12 guage shotguns, and 23" 7.62*54r for 825$ in store. They looked really tempting. Brian

I take it the 7.62x54R model is the RH thumbhole stock one?

I have been "hunting" for a left hand (or ambi) stock Vepr Hunter (har har) model for a long time. They are rare and the ones that crop up on GB go quickly or for stupid $.
