Another idea for moving firearms, especially long guns, try contacting your local gun shops. They often have a bunch of cardboard rifle boxes with foam padding inside that they just throw away. Those might be handy for moving your rifles so you don't have to buy a bunch of cheap cases. Adventure sports up here in Lynnwood always has stack of them outside the front door that are free to take. Saves them having to try and stuff them in the recycle bin.
