Mine had stopped working after a few shots. Took off the front end cap, pushed the laser housing back against the battery and cut a piece of flexible black plastic (coffee can lid) to work as a sleeve between the laser housing and cap to keep it from sliding forward (and away from the battery terminal).

Heavy recoil causes the laser housing to slide forward. After installing the sleeve, have fired hundreds of rounds with no further problems.

I got one the last time through. I've never actually attached it to one of my rifles, I use it for pointing at stars in our hot tub. It's particularly great when there's a bit of fog in the air, but you can see the beam in clear air for thousands of feet, if not miles. I've got a friend who's fascinated by it, so he's getting one for his birthday next month.
