Walmart warranty: buy another and put the old one in the new package.

You tried to get money for a Lib tard soy boy Washington state lock from a red blooded meat eating manly Republican Idaho store.

I am surprised they didn't lay a beating on you, tar and feather you, and run you out of town on a rail.

Consider yourself lucky they let you off the hook.

God only knows what would have happened if you told them you were a lawyer.

If you were to sue them in a COURT OF LAW,,

Would the judge agree with you or the store that REQUIRES a RECEIPT for return/warranty and has clearly stated that in several places?

Well played REN.

On a side note
Lose the Purple and Gold
Blue and Green
You are now in Bronco, Vandal, and Cougar country.
Maybe a Grizzly or Bobcat fan can be found.
Not likely, just possible.
And at last check Raiders, Broncos or Steelers depending on the age of the crowd.
I think there’s one Hawks bar in Boise,
Got a bomb threat when they smoked the Broncos in the SB

In a court of law, Ace loses in every aspect.

First, discovery rules would require opposing party to turn over documents in their possession. Ace had the receipt, they just didn't want to turn it over.

Second, they have video surveillance of me buying it a week prior.

Third, testimonial evidence rules. I bought it. Prove otherwise. In the absence of proof I didn't buy it, I possess it and own it. It's warrantied for life.

Fourth, the product fails several tests of express and implied warranties, and it's plainly an Ace product.
Product is plainly stamped Ace, and packaging plainly states "lifetime warranty." Product failed. Hence it failed both merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose standards. This is NOT a "caveat emptor" situation. It's their product, I purchased, it has express and implied warranties, and it failed within a week.

Further, Ace acted in bad faith. In some courts, that's treble damages....

Promptly working on it. Takes a little time. By next week I'll have ID ID and plates, and wash the stank off me... :thumbsup2:

Next time buy an Abus https://www.amazon.com/ABUS-83CS-55-300 ... 59&sr=8-19

Instead of buying a lock with a lifetime warranty better just to buy a lock that will last a lifetime.

Good advice.

I actually have a excellent hardened lock I had planned to use, but the gap was too great and I couldn't get the lock thru the 3 slots. So the Ace lock was a "need it now" spontaneous purchase.

Bottom line is that if a customer returns your plainly defective $30 lock that carries your store BRAND NAME a "lifetime guarantee", with both keys, and states he bought it that week at a different store and they can easily confirm, you simply offer a refund or replacement. Confirm the sale if you must get re-assurance.

The margins on that product are simply not worth losing a customer over. And you're a franchise and not going to "win" the fight.

Customer tells you where, when, and how he paid for it. For God's sake, you don't imply or accuse him of stealing it. Or demand proof he bought it. Call the other store if you must.

But just make the darn refund.

Well they are independently owned and operated stores. They buy those ACE locks from ACE, then resell them. So now that store has to get a reimbursed from ACE corporate for that lock. That local store didn't give you a refund. They bought it from you, and will have to get their money from ACE.
