Both surprised me today. FWDG wanted to charge me extra $10 for shooting my .223 pistol, although there is notning about additional charge on their site, neither on the wall in the lobby. Champion Armas said I must buy their fragile ammo. Fuck them both.

Screw indoor shooting anyway. Just go to RFGC and shoot your own ammo, it's cheaper too

While it appears they have changed the dues for "active" Members, and "standard" Members, there is no requirement for 20 hours of volunteer work. You pay 100 for a standard membership as an "active" Member You pay 160 for "standard" membership if you have not done 20 hours of Volunteer work there. What i smell is them wanting to weed out non active members. I'm pretty sure that isn't "Socialism" but i am not impressed. They used to just discount your membership fee for hours volunteered, now they penalize you for not doing so. If it wasn't for the Trap field i wouldn't bother anymore, i rarely shoot at the Rifle or Pistol ranges.

It's socialism if you're asked to help out for extra benefits? Okay... How about...Just weeding out folks to reduce the likelihood that the people shooting next to you have nefarious intent, or a bad attitude? Seems to have worked in this case... It's a private business, and you have a choice...not really socialism...but, ummm, okay...

Hardly socialism. Many ranges reduce membership fees in exchange for volunteer hours. Seems more like capitalism since you are basically getting paid for work.

These are volunteer clubs. They would rather have members do the work than to hire people, and pay them with the members’ money. And without a financial incentive, the same five members would end up doing all of the work.... I have no issue with that.
