I got an email about the "upper rail" the other day, so I bit . . . it's an L-shaped piece that replaces the side rail, but lets you mount a red dot up top. Here 'tis with a no-name red dot sight, since I'm not ready to commit a Holosun to it:

As you may recall from earlier in the thread, I thought the my suppressor-height sights on the G17L were a bit too low for comfort, and I thought that regular sights would be even worse.

The red dot is slightly higher than I'd like, but it's not too bad. I can still use the iron sights by looking below the rail.

No range test yet . . . but it's ready.
