I posted this a long while back, but deleted it. After further thought, it was selfish of me to let my personal issues cloud sound judgement, so I'm reposting this Public Service Announcement, with the following caveat:
BE CAREFUL HIRING TECHNOWEENIE FOR ANY ELECTRICAL OR ELECTRONICS INSTALLS
*ESPECIALLY* drive cams in vehicles. The thing is, he will do such a fantastic job it will ruin your expectations with any other vendor.
Ha. Using a classic Technoweenie swerve against him. Take that TW!
But seriously I deleted the thread a long time ago and it wasn't right for TW. He installed drive cams in one of my German cars awhile back, you know, the kind with 27 airbags, electronical gizmotos up the ying yang, impossible to remove trim clips, the whole f'n show. The system worked flawless, and you could NOT tell he was ever even in there. A "professional job" is not one size-fits all. Some people get A's and B's, others barely pass with D--. TW's work was A level. I've paid a LOT more money to have other installers do utter shit work that needed to be redone. I'm confident saying TW won't have a comeback, and even if he does, he will be able to rectify it quickly.
Hire him with confidence.
