Remington 597 Trigger Job

Wed Aug 10, 2011 7:58 pm

I've had this 597 for about 10-15 years now, and never thought much about the trigger. Then one day i some how came across this "target trigger hammer" from Volquartsen. Every review I read was 4+ stars and there was nothing bad said about it, so I decided to plop out the $40 with shipping and see. maybe the $40 part I have put in any gun. Trigger weight is easily 1/2 of what it was. I'm not sure what the factory weight is but it's way better now. If you have a Remington 597 you NEED to pick one of these up. Install time was under 10 minutes.

Great review! Was installation a breeze?

It was, and I'll be honest; outside of high school shop, I'm lost. The hammer didn't come with any instructions, so I thought "I'll just take a look inside." 6 minutes later I was done. I just read online the new trigger pull weight should be in the 2.5-3.0lb range. I think factory is 5.5lb+++.

I love to read this stuff! (And no, I don't even have a 597.)

Thanks for sharing!
