You can trust SWFA on it's backorder time estimates. Today, they beat their own timeline handily, and my order shipped today. It's on the way! Time to locate some .308 178gr match ammo.
First time I've done business with SWFA, I usually use Optics Planet. Anyways, they listed the scope i wanted (Pride-Fowler rapid retical 10x42). Now, I understand the word back-order, but their site doesn't list any items as back-ordered as most major online vendors do. I find this a bit flakey. You don't know when you place the order, or when the order is confirmed. The next day you get the email, with no ETA. I e-mailed customer service and was told two or three weeks.
OK. At that price, for that scope, Ill wait. But all eyes on their performance on this. The thumb is turned sideways ready to go either up or down.
I've always gotten great service from Brownells, and this isn't their fault. Seems a while back the feds changed the rules on hazardous cargo. We have all seen that ORM-D sticker on cases of ammo right?
Well, the feds lowered the threshold on batteries, and anything with a lithium battery now has to go ground by common carrier. The USPO won't take it, and it can't go air. No matter what size the battery is, and even if it's just one tiny button battery that goes in that red-dot sight you ordered up, it's going via truck, Forget air of any kind, or USPO.
