There's a new little place on River Road in Puyallup, just out of town next to the head shops and low-rent car dealerships, called Brown Box Ammo Guy. We stopped in there this afternoon to check it out, and it looks like an excellent local source for popular caliber ammo. They had Washougal .223, 9, 40, 45, along with some 308 and a few others. The main counter had a bunch of 80% lowers for $55 or 2/$100, and various black rifle parts. There were a handful of uppers on the back wall, various builds and calibers. Looked like a solid little one-man operation, the ammo prices were good, and I'll definitely be stopping in again. :thumbsup2:

Their website is basic but it's there. http://www.brownboxammoguy.com/

I drove by there on Saturday, and from the brief look at the sign I think it said they were open 7 days a week. I would have stopped but I was already running late.

Looks like I will be swinging by there soon.

I spoke with him for a bit before he opened his shop, seems like a great guy. I'm looking forward to seeing how he is when a deal's on the counter. Will be watching intently.

interesting. Some prices look less than elsewhere, some look to be a bit more. Looks like quality competition.

If it is who I think it is that opened that (Tim), he is a standup guy. Glad he got a storefront up and running.
Easy guy to deal with and no BS.

Pretty sure this guy was at the Tacoma Dome shoe I went to. If so, he is a good chatty fellow

When I met him he said he was at the Tacoma show and was indeed very chatty. Good conversation if you`ve got the time for it, though. At least that`s what I got, can`t comment on your experience.

Well, what can I say. This is the worst business experience I have ever had and I will never, under any circumstance, be visiting this place again. I suggest that you heed my warning and stay safe. I was treated incredibly rudely by the owner over bad reload ammo that he sold me. He became belligerent after I asked him what he was going to do about it. The ammo that he sold me, the same ammo that his wife claimed was great and never had any problems with and that she shot all the time, blew up in two different guns I own and even hurt someone that was with me shooting at Champion Arms. The SRO at Champion helped me to discover that it was the ammo and not the guns with the problem and suggested that I return the ammo as it was unsafe to fire. They even kept a casing so that the owner at Champion would have evidence to talk with the owner at BBAG.
The clown at BBAG offered to exchange with me for another box of Washougal reload 40 after telling me I was stupid for shooting the "bad run" in two different guns. I found his comment degrading and inflammatory. Who would exchange garbage for another box of garbage? He went so far as to tell me to get the "hell out of his business" because he was not going to give me a refund, even though I had never asked for one! STAY AWAY from this business as they, the clown and his clown wife, both lack integrity.

Welcome to WaGuns, Daniel. :wavey:

Just to clarify . . . was the "bad" ammo .40 S&W from Washougal? Did you contact Washougal directly?

Madpick,
you asked "just to clarify . . . was the "bad" ammo .40 S&W from Washougal? Did you contact Washougal directly?" I am in the process of doing just that, but I wanted others to know how I was treated from this business. I feel that is fair and reasonable and so does my State Patrol friend and my attorney.

Yes, I understand and I wasn't questioning your review of BBAG.

I was just trying to confirm what type of ammo it was, and I was going to suggest that you contact Bill at Washougal. He has a good reputation of taking care of issues when they arise.
