I wonder if it worth calling the realtor to get in contact with the guy? I know its a stretch, but if it was my money, I would try every legal way to get this resolved.

Even better would be to get a quick Lien on the property, then it will flag the title and will have to be dealt with at Escrow.

I wouldn't wait too long for the lien.

"Sale Pending
The seller has accepted an offer, and the property is now pending or under contract."

I did call the redfin real estate. I am at work and after 10 minutes of being on hold I figured I should get back to doing actual work. I will definitely try that route again if I don't get a call back from this guy.

You will need to work through your local courts.

So helpful. No actual research into if the suppressor was turned in, just generic blow me off email. Really earned that paycheck today.

Wow, WTF?

Time to file a report with Edmonds PD (possibly Sno County Sheriff). It sucks, but you will have to list it as stolen. Do you have the serial number from Silencershop and/or the receipt?

Consider the property lien too, I have not idea how, but I know it is possible but you have to be able to prove your claim.

What a hassle, what a black eye to our industry as well. Good luck Robert.

If you know the S/N of the suppressor, and you know the stamp has been issued, I'd try the Edmonds PD. Try and push them on the "theft of an NFA item". At least get a disposition of the contact and then file small claims against them.

Just to clarify, you HAVE paid for the Suppressor and the Tax Stamp?

I have paid for the suppressor and stamp, have the serial # and all of that business. I will have to look into the lien as I have no idea what that entails.

Get to the County clerks office asap and file the lien.
If the house is pending you need to get your lean on file before title search is done otherwise the lien wont register.

Looks like $34 bucks to file a lien.

I am sure there are some lien templates out there too but more fast and move now.

File the lien. Find out who the closing title company is. Call them with the property number (MLS, County plot number etc) and tell them you placed a lien.
Then certify mail a letter to owner stating you filed a lien.

MOVE IT MAN!!

Since the business was home based. The Home (business) location is what you slap the lien on.

As others have said, if you have the serial number, file a police report get that number.

Here are some Lien templates.

"Notice must be sent via certified mail to the owner within 10 days of first delivery of materials, supplies, or equipment to the job site."

Most of the above are generic and you will need to modify some.

A phone call to the listing agent (not Redfin, the actual agent) warning of a pending lien on the property may actually get you an immediate response. Good luck man. I hate hearing about this stuff. I have "almost" been caught up in a similar situation, but my legal threats worked.

In construction, the mechanics' lien has to be filed at the time the contract is signed i.e. before any default has even taken place. It is a notice of a right to file a lien, and extends the right to ten days prior to the issuance of the notice.

Here is the RCW search page and the section on MECHANICS' liens. The one you seek will be different (probably, maybe) and will take some time to find.(this was just a quick search)

Search page:

http://leg.wa.gov/LawsAndAgencyRules/Pages/default.aspx

Results of searching Liens:

Mechanics liens (may not be the type you want, dunno) :
