I've always gone to Sportco/Outdoor Emporium for powder/primers. Always quick there.
Never tried Cabela's

Margins on firearms are shit (unless you are Wades). It's the accessories that bring the money. Margins on lost/frustrated customers telling others about their experience are worth WAY more than gun sale margins.

I worked with a young man Matt Johnson yesterday buying an old grandpa spec shotgun. Nothing special. Old Beater gun. Kid knew his stuff and was nice. What wasn’t nice was waiting in line before hand to attempt to buy a used gun. The line wasn’t moving and it wasn’t clear how I could start the buying process. I didn’t take a number cause I knew what one I wanted off the rack. I walked into the gun library and he helped me back there instead. Cabelas is what it is. Might have a good day might have a bad day. I just wish their checkout system was more clearly marked for what / wh

It's a quick way to get someones attention.

"You could go to jail for having a custom trigger." - Cabelas outfitter
I over heard this tonight while I was buying some reloading components, which are now located near the gun counter.

I overheard this tonight while I was buying some reloading components, which are now located near the gun counter. I had a customer tell me you couldn't modify a trigger, and that a legal gunsmith won't do it. BTW let's not give Ferguson any ideas.

I bought a new pistol there last Saturday. No complaints about the service at all. I've never had a bad experience at Cabela's in Lacey (other than their bad taste in putting it there, it was half way between where I worked at the time and home - place $100 bills me to death).

I gave up giving these schmucks my money.
Can never get any good help, they don’t know what there doing...maybe fine for “them” folks, but not me.
Not only that but you can literally order a gun anywhere online and save money, and sometimes a lot
No thanks.

My overall experience with Cabela's has been pretty good. I've bought a few guns from them and while I feel I most likely overpaid, having a few hundred dollars worth of gift cards made it easier to buy at the higher price. One of the guns I bought from them was a Cabela's exclusive that I couldn't get that configuration in the caliber I wanted anywhere else. They did bend over backwards for me one time when I went in to buy a Garmin GPS package deal they had on sale. They didn't receive any for the sale and couldn't get any so they put together the package by taking all the individual items off the shelf and I think they gave me like 10% off on top of the sale price.
