Hey all. I`d like to share a couple horror stories with you here.
MKR is a relatively new shop in Gig Harbor, on Grandview street. It`s named after the owner, Mr Mark K Roy. It`s a nice shop, well stocked and clean in appearance. Don`t let that fool you, the place is a nightmare bordering Boerner`s in Gorst...
Last summer I visited their facility to send an AR15 to another FFL, ironically the gun was sold here on WAGuns. The fool behind the counter misunderstood time and again that the gun was being sold directly TO the other shop, not to an individual who was buying it through them. The other FFL (active here on WGO) was very patient and eventually the deal commenced as intended. I decided to not let a single misunderstanding ruin my perception of them as a shop, and was happy to see them grow and add more products and services as time went on.
Until November.
The 8th of November 2018 I visited the shop with money burning a hole in my wallet. I waited patiently for the employee behind the counter to get around to me (I believe his name was Shane) and we began looking over handguns. I decided to pick out a brand new H&K VP9, for which I overpaid but I didn`t mind - it meant Boerner`s is getting none of my money and it saves me a trip across the bridge and the related headaches. How I wish I`d simply gotten a hold of Dreadi...
I opened my wallet and began filling out my paperwork. I paid $740 cash, pocketed my change and was on my merry way, glad to have a brand new pistol in a few days. Days turned to weeks, and now weeks to months. In the meantime I contacted the shop every now and again to check the status of my request:
"Still nothing, sorry" was all I ever heard.
Eventually my tale reached the ears of some FFLs present here on WAGuns and they took an interest. Over time this interest grew until one offered to sell the exact same product at $100 less if I cancelled my order, collected my refund and simply went there. Another provided the contact information for the desk at the agency supposedly handling my request.
During all this time, silence has been heard from MKR Tactical Solutions. Each time I attempt contact I`m rebuked, and last I visited in person I explained that I had other shops with an interest in this circus. The same person who served me November 8th "helped" me again last time, and produced an inch thick stack of paperwork, claiming they all are requests from other customers. I looked it over and left, frustrated, certainly. As I was closing the door behind me the owner, Mark, exited the mens room and walked behind the counter. I paid him no mind. As I sat in my car to answer some messages I`d received while inside Mark appeared next to my driver`s door and tapped on the window, he tried making good, and failed miserably. I received the same lip service I`d received in the past, only now I had a strange middle aged man hanging out by my car.
I`ve spoken with yet another WAGunner about this shop, who claims to have experienced no small amount of trouble when buying a suppressor.
In summation, at the best my request is in that stack of paperwork. At worst, my gun has been sold and my money stolen.
FUCK YOU, MARK ROY. FUCK YOU, KISS MY ASS, AND CONTRACT A TAPEWORM.

Let me get this straight. You purchased a pistol on November 8th, 2018 and still haven’t received it yet???? Wtf, over? Do you not have a CPL? Even still, you should have cleared and been able to pick up in less than 5 days. What in the hell is going on?

No, I do not have a CPL. And when I tried to explain that I should have it in at least 5 days, I get told that`s true at state level, but that Pierce County does not allow for it.

Did you get delayed or something? I'm not understanding the "Request" part of this. They holding until a "Proceed" or something? ..and how does Pierce County over ride State law??

I have no idea what`s going on. I`m guessing we got delayed, but for over two months? Unlikely. I`m almost thinking his dumbshit staff sold the thing and let my paperwork fall behind the desk or something.

You say "we", you were the purchaser, correct? Do they have a policy of not releasing without a "Proceed"? I'm trying to understand this here.

Apologies,
by "we" I mean "I", yes. I tried asking about a policy as mentioned, but it was glossed over. Color me unimpressed.

Not that it sounds like it would drastically altered this transaction, but maybe it could have helped, but why dont you have your CPL?

Is your gun still there? Ask to see it. Your 4473 has the serial # on it, so they couldn't have sold it to somebody else.

I have no idea if it`s still there, for all I know it`s been sold and their own ineptitude let me fall through the cracks.

I like Dan's idea, ask to see both the 4473 and the weapon. So did you get a delay, a decline? I guess I am not seeing a reasoning as to why they are not releasing the weapon to you. The pierce Cty thing sound bogus, I have not heard of other FFL's in Pierce doing that garbage..
Be polite but talk to the owner. Let him know that this long is unacceptable and request your money back, let him know you are wanting to part ways. Stack of paperwork is not an acceptable excuse. Did you pay by CC or by Debit card? If CC I would tell the owner one last time you want your weapon or a refund, if he fails to comply, file thru your CC company for fraud.
If that all fails then I would say it is even time to get a lawyer involved, and I hate lawyers.

Receipt image says "cash"...otherwise the suggestion to file a claim with the CC company is a good one. Receipt also says "no refunds". That's some bullshit. I can see that policy applying if the transaction has been completed, and you left with your firearm, but to refuse to refund when the item you paid for was never given to you? Oh hell no. Is there any point in contacting the local ATF field office? Would they even do anything?
