Description of Duties and Tasks
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Manages all aspects of range operation, including implementing all safety protocols.
• Manages all aspects of firearms safety, oversight of firearms handling. Subjects reports
to Director, as required.
• Ensures range is operated in accordance with club policies.
• Maintains necessary range supplies. Provides for the proper storage of all range
equipment, including safety gear, ammunition and targets.
• Maintains records of range activities, range maintenance, and operations and submits
reports to Director, as required.
Knowledge
Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without
reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
• Knowledge of firearm proper use and maintenance of firearms equipment, including
safety gear, ammunition and targets.
• Proper safety techniques related to the use and cleaning of firearms.
• Firearms instruction, training and proper shooting techniques.
• Principles of client service and practice.
• Proper personal safety precautions and techniques regarding potential lead exposure.
Skills
Must possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without
reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
• Maintaining an established work schedule, which includes weekends.
• Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
• Effectively using interpersonal and communications skills, including tact and diplomacy.

• Ability to immediately respond to all emergency situations with clarity and proper

• Maintaining order and discipline among all users of the range.
• Managing supply inventories and developing procedures for maintaining adequate stock
availability.
• Providing clear and concise reports for the Director and other entities as required.
Technology Skills
• Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and Point of Sale software
Preferred Work Experience
• More than 5 years in the shooting sports or industry
• Rangemaster experience
Physical Requirements
• Work is routinely performed in a firearms range operation.
• Subject to standing for extended periods of time, walking, sitting, running, bending,
reaching, kneeling, crouching, stooping, squatting, twisting, climbing, pushing, pulling,
manual dexterity and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Subject to exposure to noise, outdoors, chemicals, explosive materials, mechanical
hazards, and electrical hazards.
• Ability to walk on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to follow environmental and safety protocols.
• Ability to perform repair and maintenance of range facilities using hand tools and power
tools.
Safety
Supervise safe operation of range. Facilitate safety inspections. Take reasonable and prudent
actions to eliminate identified hazards. Ensure users receive appropriate safety training and
foster a workplace safety culture.
