Bankruptcy isn't necessarily cheap to do.

Might want to check with the Bar Association, some firms offer discounted or pro bono work.

I wanna say mine was 400$ish, I think.

I know it was under the 500$ mark but this was 11 years ago.

Really? Wow....I had friends that looked into it, and it was $2500-$4000...

You've been through it, though, so maybe I'm completely wrong. Could it correlate with how many debts you're dispensing?

Either way, pro bono is better than Sonny Bono, or paying ....

No it is not a sliding scale based on what you owe , it was just a flat fee and a few small court costs 20$ here 35$ there like I said earlier it was under the 500$.

I do remember “shopping” around and everyone I called said around 1K ish and during my consultation I asked them why is their fee relatively small and I remembered she laughed and said “when you do a bankruptcy we already know your broke so why would we try to pull money from a stone” its sounds kinda harsh but the way she said it was pretty funny and we both laughed pretty hard.

You would know more than I, with your direct experience :thumbsup2:

Several friends were quoted over 2-4k, but that doesn't mean I know anything :ROFLMAO:

Going through the Bar for Pro Bono work still might be a good option, BUT, having an experienced firm, with a recommendation, might well be worth the money.

All it takes is one paper not filed by a court-given date, to screw things up & cost you.
