Amtrak is hiring! Coming up are several openings.
They are looking for people in the following crafts:
Cleaners
Carman
Electrician
For cleaners, entry level position no experience required
Carman, you work on the coaches. Must score a passing grade on a mechanical aptitude test and math test. All tools provided. No rail experience required.
Electrician is the same as above.
Great benefits and retirement!
Veterans preference is strongly used but not a requirement. It gives you a foot in the door.
All positions require a hair follicle drug test. This includes marijuana!!! Pot is still illegal federally.

Every time I see a job posting that does not include the compensation info, I pass.

No offense, but that is a terrible method of searching for a job. Granted, I work in the medical field so there is always little to no info on salary, but I’ve always been able to negotiate a salary that is in my best interest. If the job looks like a good fit, you should be able to negotiate a salary that gives you what you want.

No offense taken.
If employers avoid posting starting pay then it tells me that they are cheap asses.
Should I waste my time by applying and going through the interview - just to discover at the end that they offer a minimum wage?
Nope.
Instead, I just wish them a good luck in finding a sober, disciplined, experienced professional with low pay expectations.

When its time to go in:
That place of steel and stone. I pray that you will keep me safe, so I will not walk alone. Help me to do my duty, please watch me on my rounds.
Amongst those perilous places and slamming steel door sounds. God, keep my fellow Officers well and free from harm. Let them know I'll be there too, whenever there's alarm.
Above all when I walk my beat, no matter where I roam. Let me go back whence I came, to family and home
