I am looking into getting my barrel threaded on a Savage 7mm Rem Mag for a brake or suppressor. Recoil with this rifle has made range time pretty unpleasant. Its also inexpensive rifle so I don't want to break the piggy bank. I do have access to the tools to take the barrel off and replace if need be. Also pillar and glass bedded this rifle otherwise I've considered Gunshack barrel swap.

Witt machine, kahntrol and grizzly gun works all make awesome clamp on brakes. I had a cheapo rem 710 in 300wm and tried all 3 and landed on the kahntrol due to its side porting. The witt and grizzly were great but vertical porting on them produces stupid amounts of flash at dusk/dawn. Just my $.02...

75 for barreled action, not shortening (trigger etc all out, no scope mount)

75 to cut, crown and thread just a barrel (no sights etc, loose round barrel) . Imperial threads

100 barreled action. /Cut, crown and thread barreled action with no trigger, no scope mount etc
