I'll admit that I don't really even know where to begin, but have thought for a while that I would like to build a shop/detached garage on part of my property. I'm not interested in doing the work myself. It would require removal of a couple of trees, leveling a slope and building a retaining wall and of course designing and building the actual structure. I assume the best first step is finding a good contractor. I always prefer a referral instead of just looking them up on the internet. Anyone have a resource in the Auburn area?
Thanks in advance!

That's something I could probably handle.
I have a general contractors license but just stick to framing. I know a couple of dirt guys that are good and a guy that does foundations and flatwork.
If you can do the planning and permits you'd save quite a bit over hiring a GC.
