Interesting. Expensive, but interesting. The maximum height of 6.75” is just barely enough to fit the pistol with rmr and 19rd mag. Thanks for the link, that’s a cool little safe!

Expensive? That depends. Cost of G19, RMR, Can and stamp....not too mention toddler safe and fast access. That is Priceless IMHO.

Make sure there's room to get your hand in & retrieve, possibly with your eyes focused elsewhere (doorway, etc., ...)

Not being funny, saw someone who put new grips on a gun, and he had trouble extracting it from certain secured locations...

When you wrote of bare clearance, that popped into my head as a consideration.

I think they have reviews on YouTube

Just to make your decision harder: don’t forget that shotguns can be suppressed too!

Little suppressed .22 with lots of rounds.

Or, as mentioned above. Maxim9 with a large hand safe.

If you’re handy with the wood, (heh heh) I’ve got one of the shotgun clamps from a police cruiser. Pretty sure they’re 12v... Just need to rig up a battery and hidden switch.

I’ve got a Ruger sr22 with an oculus suppressor in my pistol safe but it’s not very reassuring defending the home with subsonic .22lr.

Is that FAS1 safe any good? I found it like a minute after I read the OP but see it’s already posted here. Anyone use it?

Why is it loaded with subsonic? It's a .22 With a can and even with HV it won't hurt your hearing indoors.
40 gr standard velocity is subsonic....i have fired that in my garage with a can, it ain't shit and it will take care of business regardless of the haters.

After I read OP, my first question was: why storage?
Do you have little kids? Cause if you don’t, then I don’t see why you want to keep your gun locked.

Got it.
Then, this might be the solution.

It’s loaded with standard velocity. I said subsonic because like you said standard runs subsonic out of a pistol length barrel.

Perfect HD Load. You can take care of business and not wake the little one. :thumbsup2:

You know, one option while the kid is still really young is just to keep a loaded mag in it, but an empty chamber. No way a toddler is going to chamber a round by themselves. Hell, a lot of adults struggle with it. Not saying you should store it where he can get to it - that would be irresponsible - but if it's out of his reach and hidden from others, but still accessible to you, it should do the trick. Not everyone would be comfortable with those measures, but that doesn't mean it's not an option.
