"“Rather than introduce a clone of the original, we had to deliver much more than other brands, knowing the FN High Power would be held to a higher standard. FN pays homage to the prolific design while modernizing the ergonomics, functionality, and operation." So.. is it still a "High Power"? https://www.ammoland.com/2022/01/fn-ame ... L_CAMPAIGN)

If it holds only 13 rds of 9, bites you and costs $2000, then yes, it is still HP.

MSRP for the standard model is almost 1100+ and for the stainless almost 1300+ That's still a spendy hi power. You won't touch these for way over MSRP for atleast 6 months.

Wow they really must have wanted to shit on springfield(SA-35)
Honestly for that price you can get a kraut marked HP or something else interesting. The only way a HP is going to get a foothold is being at a reasonable price point or go doublestacked which isnt that hard
Go double stacked at $1k i might be in for a carry piece.
FN like a lot of other gun makers only survives on military contracts with some occasional collector stuff which is terrible for civilian gun owners.

Depends on where their frames are made. Rumor has it that the Girsaan and Springfield's frames are made at the same factory in Turkey. If Fn's are made here or in Spain I think that justifies their little bit higher price. Also from what I read they redesigned it from the ground up to eliminate the hammer bite and make field stripping a lot easier than the original HP.

Wasn't the Hi-Power one of the first, if not the first, of the double stack pistols? It's always been a double stack. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

After round 500 the springfield started to have FTE issues and other people were reporting the same issue. I am sure it's just something they need to work out like an extractor heat treat or tougher spring.

I think this pistol and the SA-35 are for different customers. Not sure how many guys who were willing to spend $700 on a gun that's so close to a mk2/3 that you can swap parts are going to instead go ahead and spend 1100-1300 on a gun that shares the name but isn't really the same. I guess you have to decide if 2 more rounds or a cool finish is worth twice the money. They do look pretty damn good in FDE with the black accents. shaggy wrote: Honestly for that price you can get a kraut marked HP or something else interesting. I would take the new EAA HP offering over of either the FN or the Springfield. Probably just keep shooting my beautiful MKIII and not buy in to the retro High Power hype of 2022.
