Do you think it would work for prairie-doggin'? Do you think it's sensitive/accurate enough to pick a PD out of the surrounding grass at a distance? Yep.... I think so. I have tested the range finder on a variety of target sizes. Seems to work well but only time will tell. I built this one an experiment. I had this scope sitting around in the box and couldn't figure out what to put it on. I sure as hell am not replacing a NightForce.... I am very happy with the rifle's accuracy given the fact that this is the load from my custom PD gun. Stay tuned for more "target porn" in the coming weeks.

Did some more web-crawling looking for parts to take the Longslide 1911 I doodled out in college 20 years ago from paper to reality. Sticker shock, just the barrel/slide/top-half assembly is projected to cost more than my M4 or C.'s C8.
Granted, some of that is because with the growth from a 6" back to a 7" that limits me to one supplier... I "downsized" to 6" because AMT-length slides weren't available from any quality vendor Back Then.

We had a new participant at the 500 yard firing line today. Help me with the scale here. Is that 10 shots in a roughly 2" group at 500 yards? And what was the gun? The "X" ring is 2.5" and the "10" ring is 5" So if drop a flyer or two, it is an awesome group The grid you are seeing is a 1 MOA setting (roughly 5" for the slow learners...LOL) The gun was a Cooper in 223 with 50gr V-Max bullets. So her entire group was sub-2 MOA, including the fliers. The main group is 1 MOA at the biggest, maybe less. At 500 frickin' yards. Keep that shit at YOUR range . . . I don't need that kind of competition! Seriously though . . . WOW. Good for her, that's some impressive shooting! An impressive update to Shelby's shooting journey. We shot the 500 on Wednesday again. Both of us bettered our score. Our goal was to shoot 100 ( 10 10's) with X's as a bonus. I shot a 100 with 7 x's. I was thrillled. I hit my goal and shot very well. Shelby's first go around beat her initial score and shot a 98. 1 hour later we shot round 2. Shelby shot a 100, with 7 x's, tying my score..... But she did one better. My group size was 4.8".. Shelby's was 4.4". This is Shelby's second time out at 500 yards.

Bought a couple new items for the reloading bench. In addition, just received my new custom 223 barrel. The new build will commence shortly. No picture of the barrel....everyone knows what they look like.... Gen 2 Auto Throw/Trickler with A & D FX-120i scale A&D EJ-54D2 scale. This thing is almost too accurate...LOL Almost forgot...I shot this with my 308 that hasn't seen the light of day in 10 years... Not bad with factory ammo at 500 yards. Squares on this target are 1 MOA
