The tip or the base? Important distinction...

That is pretty generous to add that much to Techno's weenie...

How much, if any, does it add to yours?

"Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm -- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves." – T.S. Eliot

"The right of self defence is the first law of nature: in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest limits possible. Wherever standing armies are kept up, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any colour or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction." - St. George Tucker

A careful definition of words would destroy half the agenda of the political left and scrutinizing evidence would destroy the other half. - Thomas Sowell

"To ban guns because criminals use them is to tell the innocent and law-abiding that their rights and liberties depend not on their own conduct, but on the conduct of the guilty and the lawless, and that the law will permit them to have only such rights and liberties as the lawless will allow...

For society does not control crime, ever, by forcing the law-abiding to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of criminals. Society controls crime by forcing the criminals to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of the law-abiding." - Jeff Snyder

Personal weapons are what raised mankind out of the mud, and the rifle is the queen of personal weapons. The possession of a good rifle, as well as the skill to use it well, truly makes a man the monarch of all he surveys. It realizes the ancient dream of the Jovian thunderbolt, and as such it is the embodiment of personal power. For this reason it exercises a curious influence over the minds of most men, and in its best examples it constitutes an object of affection unmatched by any other inanimate object.

0.75" doesn't sound like a whole lot but in percentage terms it's probably pretty impressive

Members discussing members . . . does it get any better?! :thumbsup2:

I actually got a little motivated after work. I cleaned a number of pistols, replaced a striker spring in my XD, and fitted/replaced a sear spring in a .58-caliber reproduction Zoauve rifle. I bought a replacement spring but it didn't quite fit, so I had to do some good ol' Dremel gunsmithing.

Should my next gun be Combloc or USGI?

Can't go wrong either way, but Combloc will be cheaper than anything USGI.
I'm talking Garands, Carbines, real GI 45's etc.

When in doubt, the answer is always 'both'.

True story. I have a lot of Commie guns because of this.

My buddy foothills always used to laugh at me, and tell me to suck it up and spend the money on good American wartime rifles. I didn't listen to him, I figured they were all pretty much the same but the Commie stuff was better. Stupid old ppl. :ROFLMAO:

And then I bought a Garand when a good deal popped up. :inlove:

And then an M1 Carbine. :inlove: :inlove:

And then a 1903A3. :inlove: :inlove: :inlove:

And then a Krag. :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: :inlove:

And then a few more . . . .

Yeah, the Commie guns are cool, and they're cheaper . . . but the American guns are absolutely fucking phenomenal. At some point, save up your money and buy them.

Shot a couple of rounds of trap at RF&GC with my Brother-In-Law, Alex and usrifle. I shot thusly with my brand new Benelli Ethos. Good googly moogly. What a butter-smooth shotgun.

After that, headed up to the pistol range and put a hundred or so through my new (to me) G19 & G20. Both shot well. Very pleased.

Went home. Got ready.

Went to work and hosted a kick ass Irish Whiskey Dinner, wherein WaGuns was well represented.

Can’t argue with a day like that.

I heard Angels singing and the skies parted when the Ethos was uncased. I fondled it briefly, but i felt i was unworthy to even touch it.

Breck won prettiest gun on the Trap fields that day.

He very Kindly offered to let me have a go with it for a Round, but i could not bear the thought of soiling that beautiful shotgun with my unworthy hands.

A magical thing of beauty indeed.

Went out to ISC to shoot my M&P since I haven’t shot it in a while. Stopped over at WCA in Issaquah on the way home to check out inventory. Fondled a few CZ75’s since I’m considering getting one and also molested a CZ Scorpion as I’m considering getting one over building an AR pistol.
