Has anyone done Hydro-graphic transfers to gun parts?
Does it last? Does it need to be clear coated?
etc.

Don't do it! it doesn't hold up. I had two different factory 10/22s with this coating...it wore off too easily even with light use in the field. I won't ever buy another gun with it.
