Links to the law(s) will be highly appreciated! RCW 9.41.090: (6) (c) ...The dealer shall deliver the pistol or semiautomatic assault rifle to the purchaser following the period of time specified in this chapter unless the dealer is notified of an investigative hold under subsection (5) of this section in writing... https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=9.41.090Scroll down to where it says “Dealer deliveries regulated—Hold on delivery—Fees authorized. Thank you! Somehow that “Effective 07.01.19” did not draw my attention. However, none of the reasons for putting applicant on hold by local LE are applicable to me. Also, Auburn PD renewed my CPL last year without any problems.

Unfortunately there’s really no recourse. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well, if someone finds out that their PD has put a 30-day hold on it, and they don't think that it's appropriate, they should go talk to the PD to see what's going on. It's possible that the PD doesn't understand the law and this will fix the problem . . . and it's possible that the PD is just ignoring the law, and then you can make an issue of it if needed.

So I purchased a pistol from precise shooter on 8/23/19, paperwork sent on 8/26/19. They said I should be able to pick up 9/10/19. Does that sound right? I thought I’d be able to pick up on the 10th business day, which it turns out is 9/9/19 because of Labor Day, but they said 10 business days have to pass.

Picked up the gun today 9/11, could’ve picked it up yesterday since that was 10 business days but I worked a 20 hour shift and I was too tired to go.
When I picked up today, Everett PD didn’t send paperwork back. Makes me wonder if people in Everett can just go buy a gun even if they’re prohibited and they all get to take it home after 10 business days because Everett PD is taking their sweet ass time with the background checks?

Start legal action. There’s an rcw that clearly states the law.

What LE agency is doing the check?
I’d start by making sure that LE hasn’t notified the dealer of a 30-day hold.

I have been trying to fax a FTA to the King County Sheriff since 1 p.m. today and their fax has been busy all day.
Did I miss an announcement or directive on how to get the FTA to them for a background check? Do I have to mail this to them?? Just want to get the clock started for my customer. Thank for the help.
