All BS aside, I am getting a little frustrated as my understanding is that the paperwork is only good for 30 days correct? Yes the BGC via 4473 is only valid for 30 calendar days.

Personal weapons are what raised mankind out of the mud, and the rifle is the queen of personal weapons. The possession of a good rifle, as well as the skill to use it well, truly makes a man the monarch of all he surveys. It realizes the ancient dream of the Jovian thunderbolt, and as such it is the embodiment of personal power. For this reason it exercises a curious influence over the minds of most men, and in its best examples it constitutes an object of affection unmatched by any other inanimate object.

You will have to fill out a new 4473 after 30 days. Since a NICS # was never issued, the BGC will not need to be resubmitted to the LEO. Once LEO finally responds, then the NICS # and status will be entered on the "new" 4473. If, in the old days, a dealer was issued a NICS # and the transaction was not completed, for whatever reason, within 30 days then the whole process starts over.

I wonder how that works for FFL's who say they will release after 10 business days? One FFL told me they will not release without a NICS #, other FFL's say they will.

If the state continues with this HORSE CRAP, they need to make a portal for dealers to access and input the information themselves. You know... A WHOLE COPY OF THE NICS CHECK SYSTEM that also accesses the Are You Deranged? database.
Or, all that money they are collecting into the general fund from checks pertaining the semi auto rifles needs to distributed among agencies that process the checks so that they can hire and train more staff that are solely dedicated to this task.

That's rational, and that's why it will never happen.
