Anybody have one that can give me their impressions? Thinking about buying one to muzzleloader hunt next year. Seems to be a good economically priced option.

Not sure the price-point on the Wolf, but I hear the Optima and Accura are quite nice ML. The Optima is pretty darn affordable and I hear shoots extremely well, to the point I do not hear anyone mentioning the wolf at all anymore if that makes sense? The optima and accura are very well regarded, lots of information available etc if you ever have a problem or question. I know I plan to get an optima or Accura based on all the reviews, youtube vids etc, pretty much nothing else is even on my list. might want to skim youtube for videos on the wolf?

FYI - in case you are not aware, the laws have changed for ML, you can now use 209 primers, so do not fall for or buy a "NW" edition" rifle. They will still be out there and on shelves, but you do not need that. You just have to use "iron" sights, no scope.

Good luck and let us know what you go with!

Can also have an enclosed breech. No longer has to be "ooen to the elements". Fuckers changed the law the year after I bought my ML.
I have a Traditions Vortek. Love it. Super light, very accurate. Going to switch breech plugs and nipple to use the shotgun primers. Only issues I've had are from failed strikes. That should be fixed with the upgrades.
As far as the Wolf goes, it looks like a good value. I don't think I'd hesitate if that's what you want.

Bought one last summer. My uncle is shooting it now. I got two a night and a CVA. Here are my impressions.

CVA:
Pro's
There are lots of options. Easy to convert these to shooting blackhorn 209 with regular shotgun 209 primers. Swap nipple and breech good to go. Easy to get those as well.
It shoots accurately.
Has nice night site fiber optics making it easy to site and shoot.
CVA Wolf's can easily shoot magnum loads. up to 150gr pellets of roughly 110 to 120 grains loose.

Con's
The newer wolfs are easier to disassemble than the original version of the wolf.
Good solid for regular muzzle loading shooting but these are not long range. Some of the other brands are better it you plan to shoot over 150 yards.

Overall the CVA's are considered the budget brand of the muzzle loading. But from what I have seen unless you are looking for a competition loader they will get the job done just fine.

Looking for something affordable to get my feet wet with deer and elk muzzleloader hunting. The Wolf seems to have good reviews and well regarded in its price range.

That is a good summary and basically what I found. And unless you really plan to shoot longer distances or absolutely must have sub moa performance. It's hard to go wrong with the CVA Wolf.
Best part too is you can order or buy them with out messing with the FFL's!

Some food for thought on testing done with a Wolf. That 245Grn powerbelt load seems like a winner accuracy wise.

This is a video that anyone picking up a Muzzy should watch and understand the importance of proper powder and loading.

Having never fondled the Wolf, it looks like a good bang for buck muzzy.
I can't say enough good things about my Traditions Vortek though. Has now taken 4 shots at 4 deer, and 3 dead deer are the result. One of the 2 I shot the other week was on the run.
I shoot between 100 and 130gr of Pyrodex, and either the 245gr PPowerbelt, or the 295gr Powerbelt.
