Post subject:  How is your gun wishlist doing?

I have been noticing that over the last couple years, I have been fortunate enough to put a big dent in my want/wish list. This isn't dream gun type of stuff, but actually guns that serve some sort of purpose for me and within my grasp. How is yours doing? What is left? How long until its all checked off(temporarily of course)?

2x S&W Schofield
Sharps/Ruger No1 45-70 (currently have a Uberti Sharps on "layaway" right now. This will be my next one off the list)
Marlin 1894 .357 JM Stamp
Coonan 1911 .357mag
300WM Nemo Omen AR
Marlin 39A 22LR

My "needs" list has long been complete.

Of "wish lists" the only thing (outside of NFA stuff, hoping for repeals of various laws, etc.) I'm Jonesing for is a Mossberg semi auto 930 spx if anyone has a bead on a good price. I have a Remy 1100 so it fills the same role.

I still peruse sites for good deals though and pick up some "wants" from time to time.

I've only one on my list - a full-frame Glock MOS in 7.62x25 Tok.
However, it is not doing well.

Kyle, are those the guns still on your wish list? Or the ones that you've recently acquired?

Man, I agree. That would be awesome. I'm flush in Tok ammo so I'd love a modern platform. I think there's a niche gun market out there for someone to capture that...

475 Wildey - I have always wanted one since "Death Wish 3"

I need a Glock 20 to take fishing - because I won't feel bad if I lose it.

Shiloh Sharps Montana Roughrider in 45/70 or 40-65.

It's the shortest list I've had in a LONG time. I guess that means I have MADE progress, but am now not MAKING progress.

Yep.
Whoever makes magazine, barrel, slide and frame, utilizes existing Glock internal parts, in this caliber - wins the world.
At least six ammo manufacturers still make non-corrosive 7.62x25 Tok ammo.
So, it's not obsolete cartridge.

It's what is left. This list was almost 3 times longer 18ish months ago.

I own all the practical and functionally purposed weapons I need,
But the wish list:

OMEN is #1
.44 mag lever rifle or semi auto #2
Another .44 mag pistol #3(never should have sold my DE)

How much time do you have??

I have acquired a lot of guns that were on my want list and many others that were too affordable to pass up.

I still want a bevy of single shot, heavy barreled rifles:

Winchester 1886 high wall in 45-70
Remington Rolling Block in 45-70
Ruger No1 or No3 in 45-70
Stevens Favorite in .22 LR or .22 Mag

Stainless Ruger Vaquero Montado in .45 Colt
Schofield in .45 Colt
Desert Eagle in .50AE
S&W 500 Mag Bone Collector
Barrett M107A1 50 BMG
Ruger M77 International model in 30-06

I still need a good pump shotgun, which is stupid, because they're cheap and everywhere, I'm just dragging my feet. Otherwise I have all the practical weapon roles. As far as the dream sheet...

A .308 AR of some kind (check, built an Aero M5E1)
HK SL8-1 (Check)
HK SL6
HK SL7
HK G36 or Tommybuilt T36
HK MK23
Dan Wesson 715
Good shape Finnish M39
A bolt gun from every major power involved in WW2. Already got a perfect Mosin. Need all the other ones.
And the one I'll probably never have, A Mateba Unica 6.

Got a ways to go.

Post subject:  Re: How is your gun wishlist doing?

Well, for modern and innovative designs I've never seen times as good as these. It's truly a buyers market for anything polymer or designed in the last 30 years. I just bought excellent condition: Ruger P95 for $200, a Walther P99 for $420, a Walther PPQ for $400, and a AERO AR for $510...

What's really weird is the USED Remington 870 market.
* New (problematic) 870 express with polymer furniture is $400-500.
* This week I picked up a nice 870 Wingmaster with a HD barrel for $200, and 2 boxes of shells thrown in, out the door at a gun shop... And a few years back in a group buy we picked up 870 riot gun Wingmasters for around $200 each.

C&Rs and steel and wood guns seem to be rising pretty rapidly. Was at Cabellas and saw K31s priced at $700 and Mosins at $300... ouch.

It's a total flip flop of the late 1990s and early 2000s.
