Today I learned I might be a felon. Went to check my AR pistol, found that it had an SBM4 brace, oh crap that's not the SB15, I must be a felon!

Clicked the ammoland link and saw SBM4 has actually passed an ATF inspector. What luck, that's what I have!

Whew! Maybe I'm not a felon after all.

The ATF letter sent to SB Tactical on July 18th specifically calls out the SBM4 brace as "not submitted nor approved by ATF", so you're not out of the woods yet, apparently. But you never know, tomorrow they could change their minds (again).

One of the links in the thread leads to a court report by an ATF agent who inspected a firearm that had an SBM4 and concluded that it was legal. So, yes, their letter called it out as not officially reviewed, but in that court case their agent OK'd it.

So I am thinking I am probably not a felon. But who knows. Maybe I'm a felon.

I'm should just get the damn stamp so I can put a real stock.
