Yep, just need a new end cap. Or just cleanup the hole in it.

Maybe something in 0.458" just to even out the periphery?

Meh, I'll get there eventually - one round at a time.

Half inch drill bit will clean that up, and make it even more versatile !

Oh, wait.

Drill out all the baffles too, just to be safe.

RMA in process.

Still not happy with explanation - baffle/end plate strikes ... it's not that. Definitely hot gassrs from sustained fire which should not happen for FA rated product.

That's good. They will check the whole thing out. Maybe there is a manufacturing defect.

I have never had to return one.
What happens if they replace it with a new suppressor?

Do they simply engrave your existing serial # on the new one or is it a whole new NFA process if they send a new one with a different serial #?

Hell I am a class 3 dealer and have no clue on this situation.

Yeah, I'm confused. It's considered a firearm, right, so do I need to ship through an FFL?

I waited over a year for the stupid tax stamp. I'm not shipping anything anywhere for a ragged end cap. I've got 3 other end caps I can use.

FA rated my ass is what I say.

My hasty googlefoo says you can ship it via ups or fedex. Best to include a copy of your stamp. If you want to declare it you’ll need to send it from a hub. If you want to ship from local ups store or wherever you can just tell them it’s muffler parts. Smart to insure it for full value just in case.

I’d sent it back. What it you have a faulty can? What if they decide they don’t want to deal with it and send you a brand new can to replace your old one? Could be a net positive outcome.

Why not call scico and ask them what the average turn around time is and what their process is if the can needs to be replaced? Better to make an informed decision than just shitcan it, right?

Yeah, I'd send it back. Did they send you a shipping label? Would be nice if they did . . . .

I'd send the whole thing back, too, just so they can be thorough. You don't need to ship it through a FFL. I had SDTA do a professional re-core on my .30-cal Form 1 can. Just sent it directly to them, they replaced the baffles and end cap with a titanium monocore, and then shipped it directly back to me. If they need to replace the serialized tube for some reason, I imagine they wouldn't do it without checking with you first, and I would imagine your serial # would stay the same. But maybe ask them about that first...?

I saw the title of this thread and thought, "Who the hell thinks they have too many rounds?" I can never have too many. I better get in there quick to see if I can help this fellow member with this crisis and volunteer to provide a home for his excess ammo supply. He must not be able to get into the bathroom if he's got that much ammo in the house.
