Not to derail the thread, but how come no one makes a 9mm lever action?

My originally built in 1920 Saddle ring Winchester 92 parts gun that sports a Rossi 38/357 barrel eats everything. The original rifle was run over...and resurrected. Buckhorn sight....love that sucker.

Miroku Winchester/Browning 1892 (I've owned a few): Lightweight, smooth action, accurate, easy to single load, feed 38 & 357 well JM Marlin 1894 (currently own 2): See Above, plus easy to mount optics on (my eyes aren't the greatest anymore)
Henry Big Boy (have shot my friends): See Above, but a bit heavier (will probably buy an X Series as a home defense piece; like the new side loading gate, and will mount red dot & WML. I can't seem to do that on any of my more classic levers!)
Uberti 1873 Short Rifle (just got it): Absolutely gorgeous but heavy. Haven't gotten it to the range yet, but have run dummies through it. Have to work the lever hard with 38s, but cycles 357s like butter. I expect it to shoot fine.
Rossi 1892 (never owned one, but have friends that do): Typically not as nicely finished as the Miroku 92s, but I've seen good and bad on both. Functionally, my friends have no complaints.
Good luck with your search. Want to sell one of those 1894’s?

scrid2000 wrote: Not to derail the thread, but how come no one makes a 9mm lever action? 1) Because there is a small velocity difference in barrel length with a pistol caliber. Matters a lot with slow burning rifle powders. 2) Feed issues. Lever guns were designed for rimmed cartridges. Most important is length. My B-92 is 100% with .357 factory, but will jam if it even sniffs a .38 special. Be nice to have a short 92 action in 10mm. They make conversions in .500 S&W. Far more people buy "Alaska Survival" guns than actually go to Alaska. I have a safari rifle collection and I'll probably never go on an African safari. Hahaha

I'm looking forward to what's coming from Marlin now that they're owned by Ruger. The new 1895 SBL 45-70 that they just released looks impressive as hell.
