"Public areas like parks, where many events take place, are considered "sensitive" areas and laws prohibit weapons from being used there."

However:

"The governor's office released a statement on Friday, saying in part, "These laws allow historical re-enactments to occur, and there should be no concern otherwise. "

("should be". Yeah, I'll hang my legal hat on your 'should be' ya fraggin' tyrant. Seems like others are as reluctant to believe the fascist governor)

"Nicholson and other organizers aren't so sure.

Legal minds have told us that the law is the law,” he said. “It doesn't matter what the governor says. We could be prosecuted. Because of that, we didn't want any liability against Rogers Island Visitor Center or the village and town of Fort Edward."

black powder weapons don't fall under the same rules as modern firearms and shouldn't be affected?
