The SIG SPEAR has apparently been adopted by Big Green as the new squad weapon. SIG has now announced they are dropping the Virtus and introducing the SPEAR-LT line up for the commercial market.
Variants in many barrel lengths as well as multiple calibers: 5.56, 300BO, 7.62x51 and 7.62x39.

I figured they'd do something like this. Might be an easier sell for militaries that might want to adopt the Sig Spear but don't want to change to new oddball caliber.

Maybe I misread but I didn’t see any mention of a 7.62x51 variant?
Sorry 'bout dat. SIG has an M5 chambered in 6.8x51.
Spear LT is the 5.56, .300 and 7.62x39?

M5 will be in all the big boy calibers eventually, that’s what makes the most logistical sense. Not everyone is going to be on board with the new 6.8. The Spear LT being in the smaller common calibers makes sense as well for the same reason. I wonder if they’ll make a variant in 5.45 as well?
