Reminder that the first Sunday of each month, our club (Black DIamond Gun Club)has a Garand CMP match.
They've now changed it to "Any" military weapon match. It's a 200 yard match.
There are two covered shelters to keep you out of the weather and plenty of targets.
Cost is $10.

So, I am applying for my first Garand through CMP. (Service grade) I've never bought a rifle through CMP.
Filled out their form, using a credit card number for payment.
Photo copies of my Black Diamond Gun Club active card, my WA and UTAH concealed carry permit. (The latter required a 8 hr class but I don't have a copy of the completion certificate)
    Birth certificate

Is this all I need?

Are you saying that these rifles need constant TLC? Maybe I need to rethink my position.

That's not really what he's saying. However, all of them are at least 60 years old :)
Shuffs does some awesome conversions of garands. You can get a tanker made, or modify it to 308 and m1a mags.
Fulton armory has a lot of pieces that you may or may not want, such as NM sights. I believe they also have springs, garandgear.com also has springs for the garand.
The adjustable gas plug lets you shoot commercial 30-06, although I prefer the ported model. No tuning is needed with the ported model.

Good luck with your garand!

Did you get the application notarized? That is also necessary.

Huh, I didn't see anything here saying something had to be notorized? I am sending a copy of my 2018 club badge....

The universal order form has a section at the bottom that needs to be notarized.

"Repeat customers"
In the summer of 2003, the CMP revised the purchase forms and streamlined procedures for repeat customers. If you complete a new Universal Purchaser Certification and Agreement to buy a rifle from the CMP, signed before a Notary Public on or after July 1, 2003, you may for a period of three (3) years thereafter submit an application to purchase additional rifles, parts or ammunition without having the Purchaser Certification and Agreement notarized - provided that the “SHIP TO” address on the order form remains exactly the same.

Okay, now I see the notarized. By whom? The gun club? Bank? or Tent City guy?
