Final. Can't think of a more fun way to correct a canted FSB. Thank you PSA!

Shipped my first long gun through USPS today - in a Seattle post office, no less. As I expected, none of the employees were really sure how to handle it. Fortunately, I brought a lot of supporting paperwork, the most important of which was a printout of their own policies. After a lengthy powwow with someone in the back, the guy helping me came back and helped me complete the transaction. Despite their ignorance of how it worked, they were all very friendly and professional, so it actually went smoother than I expected. Next time, I need to charge the buyer more for shipping though...

Total was $51.80 ($42.45 for Priority 3-day to Colorado + $9.35 for additional insurance). I was charged for dimensional weight due to the odd size/shape of the box. I collected $30 from the seller, so I ate $21.80 on the shipping. Might have been cheaper to send UPS or FedEx, but then I would have had to drive all the way to one of their hubs (the retail stores won't accept firearms), so USPS was more convenient because I could go to any post office.

The UPS retail stores accept "household goods" and "machine parts". I checked, a couple times. Its also not against a law to tell them you are shipping "household goods" or "machine parts", I checked that too. And if I recall shipping my last batch of "machine parts" to Pacific Tool & Gauge cost me less than $51.80

Yeah, I would have expected less, maybe $35-ish. Maybe it would have been cheaper to ship slower, not Priority? Who knows. You did the right thing by buying the insurance, though, even if you ate the cost.

Finally broke down and bought a padded Vickers sling for the EBR on Blue force gear. Couldn't pass up the 25% off deal.

This one's not entirely me... I'd like to brag on these two for a moment? They are BRAND NEW to firearms this year. They are out at Sportsman's Warehouse in Federal Way gathering signatures for I-1094. Their 5yo daughter is asking EVERYONE, "Repeal 1639?" And it is EVEN MOM'S BIRTHDAY! Wow! That's a HUGE commitment to restoring firearms rights in Washington! And the week before, they both joined me, MadPick, waglocker, and a couple of others in Seattle at the UW game for their first-ever signature-gathering event. And they aren't even staying in the state due to a work transfer!
Folks, let's ALL follow their examples and find ALL THE PEOPLE who're willing to help us fight to repeal this silly law. We have signature locations in at least four locations this weekend. Click on the 1094 banner at the top of the desktop page for details on what we're doing and how you can get involved THIS WEEKEND. And next.We need 300k signatures by the end of December. We need your help. Be like mom and dad here! Attachment: 78754173_545496536304160_4056254675840663552_n.jpg Attachment: 77255825_545496529637494_6701166897599086592_n.jpg
