Blew my wad of money. Was leaning high end AK (Arsenal, Kalash, Krebs, etc) or a DW 10mm 1911. Just didn't find anything like that, and gave up on some auctions that went for well over MSRP.

So I bought a 6" Colt Python...once it's in hand and I confirm it shoots I'll probably source some aftermarket grips since the factory ones are ugly as hell. The great thing about the Colt is I don't need to buy anything else but ammo (and I have plenty already). No mags, no new caliber, no optic, no sling, no nothing.

Of course they all, with the exception of the 10/22, got NightForce NXS 5.5-22x56 scopes.

Of course.... :facepalm2:

Sorry to hear about your friend. It sounds like you are keeping the torch lit, though. thumbsup

You know I have a "NightForce fetish".....

Thank you for the kind words Steve.
Pat and I did everything gun related from building to reloading to shooting/hunting together for 35+ years.
It felt good to get going.
Again, THANK YOU my friend!

Uhhg only thing on today's menu of gun related things to do is drive my self friggin crazy with a brand new HK USP 9mm that when the slide is racked back or the hammer is dropped it sounds like a @#$% tuning fork it has me baffled but I have heard of this issue before so with a process of elimination and swapping parts around from the stupid noise maker to my usp expert. I now have figured out vb it's the recoil spring assembly. So I checked it all over looked for areas where the spring is snagging and nothing. So now I sit here still trying to figure out why. So if any of you have any productive ways to fix it besides being a smart ass zombie66 lol. please let me know.
I plan on calling HK Monday but that makes for a long weekend.

Is the O-ring on the barrel still in good shape?

If the plastic of the frame is not making much contact with the slide, I could see this happening. Possibly heating the frame and giving it a slight bend up might fix it. Boiling water would be the way to heat it.

Just grasping at straws, trying to be logical.

Indirectly ... I got the boys bayonets and slings for their AR's for Christmas.

We got them all setup and was working on sling work, bayonet techniques and weapons retention drills.

Guess what kind of an idiot tries to grab a bayonet festooned AR? A bloody one in a last desperate act.

I know bayonets are considered passe these days but there is no denying the intimidation factor of sharpened steel. There is a place on the use of force spectrum for a well deployed bayonet.
